About Eclipses
Eclipses occur when the Sun, Earth, and Moon align. Lunar eclipses happen during Full Moons when Earth's shadow falls on the Moon — visible anywhere on the night side of Earth. Solar eclipses happen during New Moons when the Moon's shadow falls on Earth — visible only along a narrow path. There are typically 4–6 eclipses per year.
